    Martin Luther King was the leader in the Afro-American Civil Rights Movement. He organized nonviolent protests for freedom, peace and equality between blacks and whites based on his Christian beliefs.

    Martin Luther King was born the 15th January 1929 in the USA. He fought for equality and freedom for all the people of the different races. King is famous for his Speech 'I Have a Dream'. On October 14, 1964, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for fighting against racial inequality. In 1968, King was assassinated on April 4 in Memphis, Tennessee. He continues to be remembered as one of the most praised African-American leaders in history.
