"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." - Nelson Mandela

    The man that fought

Nelson Mandela was a truly inspiring president who contributed to the progression of South Africa. Mandela fought for all people to be treated the same and spread a positive message.

Nelson Mandela was a politician and a former president. Before Mandela was elected as President he fought strongly for the colored citizens of South Africa. Although Mandela had no intention for harm he was put in prison for 27 years. After Mandela resigned as a president he still continued to fight for equal rights for all people.

    Life in Nelson Mandela's world

When Nelson was only nine his father died. He was supposed to be the Ward of The Paramount Chief. When Mandela was in college he and one of his friends got suspended for part in a boycott. This tells me that he wasn't as free as someone like me who lives in America in the 21st century. Another thing that represents this claim is that he and his cousin ran away to escape arranged marriages. In his early life they couldn't even choose who they wanted to marry. Other than that Mandela did very good for himself because of his great personality.
