George Washington was the first president of the United States. He grew up in the then-British colony of Virginia, and fought in the French and Indian war for the British. After the war he began to see that Britain should not own America. When he was about 44 years old, the first shots were fired in Lexington and Concord. The Revolutionary war had begun. Washington fought hard in the war, hard enough that he became Commander-in-Chief and went on to become president of the new United States of America. He ended up marrying a woman, Martha Washigton, who had two children. Washington finally died at an age of 67 due to dental problems that caused an infection.
