"She's made of iron sir. I assure you, she can. Its a mathematical certainty." - Thomas Andrews

The man who changed life at sea.

He died helping others live.

Thomas Andrews was born in 1873 in Comber, UK. He made plans for the RMS Titanic. On April 15th, 1912, the Titanic sank in the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean. But what really happened that morning? A little less than three hours before the ships final plunge, Andrews and Captain Edward John Smith, came to the conclusion that the Titanic would sink in about two hours. Both knew it was their final night to live. Yet they both kept their calm, even under pressure to help others live. They urged people to board lifeboats, but they didn't tell anyone what really was going on, so no one would worry. Captain Smith and Andrews both died, but they forever changed life at sea. Because of the disaster, enough lifeboats were added to ships. This action saved lives. Andrews and Smith were heroes of that fateful night.
