Rosa Parks boarded a city bus and sat in the "colored" section. After this the "whites" section filled up. Rosa was told to get out of her seat to let the white man sit there. She refused and was arrested.
Rosa Parks grew up in Pine level where her mom homeschooled her until she was 11 after that she went to a private school and payed off her debt by cleaning chalkboards. Rosa had to leave high school to take care of her sick mom. Things were hard for Rosa growing up. After high school Rosa got married then went back and got her high school diploma. After that she became a seamstress. Then in 1965 she traveled around the world lecturing about civil rights. She received many awards and moved to Detroit
