The Maid of Orleans

Joan, born in France, lived a normal life until she turned 16, and set out to fulfill the task given to her by the voices. It was to save France.

Joan was born in France where she lived an ordinary life as an ordinary girl. Later, around age 13, she started to hear the voices whispering in her ear telling her she was destined to save France. At age 16 she cut her hair short and left home to get soldiers to come with her to see the king. They made an agreement and Joan fought courageously in many battles. After a while she was betrayed and sadly burned a the stake on May 30 of 1431, at age 19. She was officially canonized(made into a saint) in 1920, more than 400 years after her execution.
